Our Vision

With a deep understanding of the fundamental problems of the southern cause, the Southern Transitional Council (STC) represents the will of South Yemenis to regain their own state, as well as their expectations for solving the southern cause. The STC strongly believes that any solution which is not compatible with the will and the aspirations of South Yemenis will fail and further destabilize the already unstable region. Therefore, the council is willing to cooperate with all regional and international stakeholders to bring about a solution of the southern cause, so that conflicts in the region can be avoided in the future. That is why the council aims at good relations with North Yemen after South Yemen’s independence. Particularly, the STC hopes for constructive cooperation with the new UN special envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffith, in order to bring about a joint solution for the southern cause. The independence of South Yemen will lead to long-term stability in the strategically significant region of the Bab al-Mandab and the Gulf of Aden.
