Attack on Aden Airport
[30 December 2020] The spokesperson of the Southern Transitional Council, Nizar Haitham, condemned the attack on Aden Airport on December 30, 2020. A missile hit the airport lobby when ministers of the new cabinet arrived at the airport. At least 27 people were killed. Dozens were injured. Haitham blamed the Houthi militias and opponents of the Riyadh Agreement for the attack. After months of negotiations in Riyadh, a new government integrating personnel of the Southern Transitional Council was formed.
Nizar Haitham also emphasized that one of the urgent tasks of the new government is to improve people’s living conditions. He also called on the Arab coalition under Saudi lead to provide logistical support to security forces in Aden to guarantee security in the city.
