Video Call with UN Envoy

[28 March 2020] By video call, President Aydaroos Al-Zubaydi held a meeting with the UN special envoy to Yemen, Mr. Martin Griffiths. They discussed peace efforts to resolve the crisis in Yemen, efforts to confront the Corona pandemic and the difficult humanitarian situation.
The Southern Transitional Council agreed with the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s envoy to continue contacts and discussions and to hold a second meeting face to face in the coming weeks, to discuss all developments in the country, methods of de-escalation and cooperation towards viable solutions.
President al-Zubaydi was accompanied by members of the STC’s Presidency Committee, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, Head of the Delegations Affairs Unit, Mr. Ahmed Lamlas, Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Council, Mr. Amr Al-Baidh, and Mr. Mohamed Al-Ghaithi, Deputy Head of the General Department of Foreign Affairs.
The Secretary-General’s Envoy was joined by his team Mr. Moeen Shraim, Deputy Envoy, and the Envoy’s Advisers, Mr. Marwan Al-Ali, Mr. Peter Rice, and Mr. Masaki Watenabi.
