South-South Dialogue

On January 20, 2019, the Southern Transitional Council, represented by its Secretary-General Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, held consultations with representatives of the so-called ‘First Southern Movement Conference’, also known as the ‘Cairo Conference’. Future meetings are scheduled to reach an agreement on the following points:

It is planned to (1) bring about a political agreement between the various representatives of the Southern cause. (2) Procedures shall be developed for all political factions in South Yemen seeking to restore the own state in South Yemen, so that (3) a joint negotiation delegation for future UN peace talks can be formed.
