Anti-government Protests in Aden

At the beginning of August 2018, numerous demonstrations against the Hadi government occurred in the various districts of Aden. The Adeni population protested the poor living conditions in South Yemen, caused by the war in 2015. The population lacks power and water supplies. Destroyed and badly damaged buildings and infrastructure have not been rebuilt to this day, although warfare ended in 2015. In addition, the protesters demonstrated against the widespread corruption the Hadi government is blamed for, because wages are irregularly paid, or not paid at all. In addition, there is a shortage of jobs. Prices on food, gasoline, and diesel have increased enormously since the beginning of the war.
