Extraordinary session of the National Assembly

The National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council held an extraordinary meeting on Thursday, August 16, 2018. The members of the National Assembly expressed their gratitude to UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffith, for his efforts and openness to the South and the southern cause, assuring him full support by the Southern Transitional Council for his commitment to peace. The National Assembly ensured the openness of the Southern Transitional Council to participate in the upcoming peace talks for Yemen, in order to bring about a peaceful solution and stability in the region. The National Assembly also supports the plan of the President of the Southern Transitional Council, Aydarus Al-Zubaydi, to initiate a South-South dialogue that should bring together all the South Yemeni forces, in order to find a common way of solving the southern cause. The members of the National Assembly authorized Aydarus Al-Zubaydi to represent the South and the southern cause in future peace talks.
